Effective 1 June 2025, SWOOP will update the technical configuration of the text analytics components in SWOOP for Viva Engage. These changes are purely backend and will not affect the user interface or user experience.
The text analytics features (sentiment analysis, language detection, and keyword extraction) are currently delivered using Microsoft Azure AI Language via a container deployed in the same Azure region as the customer’s SWOOP instance.
From 1 June 2025, we will begin transitioning customers to a new setup that uses Azure AI Language services directly, without the container. This change simplifies our infrastructure and enhances overall service reliability.
Security and Privacy
Azure AI Language ensures that customer data is processed within the same region where the service is deployed. Data sent to the service is not stored. For more details, refer to Microsoft’s documentation on data, privacy, and security for Azure AI Language.
Also, SWOOP is using Azure Private Endpoints to connect to the AI Language services. This means that we establish a secure and private connection to Azure services, aligning with best practices for network security and data protection.
