The seven SWOOP Collaboration Habits give insights into how you use the M365 collaboration tools. The seven habits naturally flowed from organisations that work towards these objectives:
- Reduce email traffic by moving internal communication into Teams and Viva Engage
- Ensure that chat is used for tactical coordination and Teams Channels is used for team collaboration
- Connect employees through communities, enabling interactions between leaders and the frontline and share knowledge across organizational boundaries
- Share files on SharePoint and store personal files on OneDrive
- Have valuable online meetings where it matters, and collaborate asynchronously the rest of the time
Based on these very popular objectives we designed the seven Collaboration Habits to help individuals, business unit leaders and the whole enterprise measure how close they are to achieving these. This is what the Collaboration Habit score represents.
The key to each of the seven Collaboration Habits is that they focus on how we balance the use of the tools. For instance, it is not about how many emails you send, but how you balance the use of email with posting in Teams Channels or on Viva Engage. In other words: It's ok to send emails, but it is not good to only send emails.
How the score is calculated
We have analysed the usage patterns of thousands of people to understand what it looks like when we talk about having a balance in using the various M365 collaboration tools. That means that SWOOP can tell you how far you've come towards achieving the objectives, and this is what is captured in the score that is given to each of the seven habits.
For instance, for the habit called 'Chat Liberated' we calculate many Teams Channel / Viva Engage message people send for every chat message, and then split the data into what 'the best' and 'the rest' have been able to achieve. This is why you see the Collaboration Habit scores are split into 'Very Good', 'Good', 'Average' or 'Below Average'.
External benchmark
The score, which goes from 0-100 for each habit reflects how close you are to the very best. Think of this as an external benchmark. If you score 90 it means that you are better than 90% of the thousands of people we've analysed.
Internal benchmark
The collaboration habit score is based on how you compare with an external benchmark. In addition to this we also show you an internal benchmark where you can see how your score ranks against other people in your organization.
