This 3 minute video introduces the 'nudge' feature in SWOOP, which is aimed at improving individuals' collaborative practices.
Transcript:
To create a collaborative organisation, each one of us has a role to play.
Using SWOOP you can get insights about what you can do to improve your collaboration practices. We call these for ‘nudges’.
Nudges are small but impactful suggested next steps you can take to become a better collaborator.
There’s currently 10 nudges in SWOOP, but we expect this to grow over time. In this table you can see all of the nudges we have today. Each nudge is uniquely matched to each person.
If you look at the first one, you can see that it’s aimed at a person who isn’t active, and isn’t a member of a community. The title of the nudge in SWOOP is “You’re missing out”. As you can see here, in the actual nudge we are suggesting that the person joins a community.
The 10 nudges are like a ladder you climb to become a great collaborator.
After recommending that you join a community, we’ll nudge you to do things such as clicking ‘Like’ when you see an interesting post, reply to someone, post something, or participate in more communities.
After that, we’ll start on the more sophisticated collaborative behaviours such as asking questions and @ mentioning others. Asking questions and @ mentioning actually have a big impact in terms of engagement. Our research has uncovered that if you ask a question, you’ll get 150% more replies, and @ mentioning people leads to 73% more replies.
If you are a SWOOP admin, you can see the nudges that apply to a community of people.
Here, I’ve created a list of people, and here you can see the nudge for each one. You can use this to for instance train your senior leaders on improving their collaboration practices.
In addition to seeing the nudges for a community of people, you can also download a list of the nudges for ALL of your people. You’ll find the nudge export feature by clicking on ‘Admin’. Choose the Data Export dashboard, and then click on the ‘Export Nudges’ button.
This is really powerful to help you run a collaboration training campaign as you’ll know who and how many people are yet to join a community, post an update, or ask a question etc.
Finally check out our support site for more information about how to use nudges to drive adoption.
