What are the Key Statistics?
The Key Statistics in SWOOP for SharePoint include the following:
Metric: | Definition: |
Unique Visitors |
A user (or guest) that has made a visit (accessed) the intranet at least once during the selected time frame. It is possible for visitor numbers to exceed user numbers if there are substantial numbers of guests |
Visits |
A visit a unique page view. If a person visits a page multiple times during a session then it is counted as one visit. |
Typical Visit Time | Typical Time reports the range of time that the majority of people spend. This helps to even out any skew in the distribution of times and gives a much fairer indication as to how people are engaging with the content that is created on your Intranet. |
Views | A view is every time a page is loaded. |
Sessions | A session is a visitor's activity on the intranet from the moment the person views the first page until the person leaves the intranet by closing their browser, navigating to a page that is not part of the intranet, or the person is inactive for 30 mins. |
Avg. Visits per Visitor |
This is simply the number of Visits divided by the number of Unique Visitors |
Avg. Daily Visitors | The average of the daily number of visitors for the selected date range. |
Avg. Pages per Visit | The number of unique page views divided by the total number of visits. |

How to use Key Statistics
Key statistics provide a simple summary of how much the intranet is being used. On the 'Essentials' dashboard the date range is locked to the last 30 days, but on the 'Behaviour' dashboard you can change the date range to anything you like.
