What is Interactive Users?
The Interactive Users report will show you the most basic measure of platform adoption. It measures the percentage of users that have interacted on Workplace within the selected date range. SWOOP classifies an 'interaction' as a post, reply, reaction or @mention. At least one interaction within the selected time period is required to be considered as 'interactive'. Interactivity does not include simply logging into the platform or read-by/seen-by counts.
The shorter the time period selected, the lower the Interactive Users percentage will be, so paying attention to the trend over time is the best way to monitor progress. SWOOP has introduced trend charts to support many of the current reports.
The Interactive Users report is available on the Segments, Groups and Enterprise dashboards.
How to use the Interactive Users report
Without participants, the digital collaboration platform is of no use. It is most important to monitor this report at the early stages of the platform launch and on significant events that are announced on the platform. It provides the fastest feedback on whether an intended effect is starting to happen or not.
It is also important to not over-rely on this measure, or to treat it as a sole measure of user engagement. In fact, our research has shown that activity metrics are often poor indicators of staff connectivity across an Enterprise.
Don't forget to pay attention to the default benchmarks in the SWOOP dashboard for realistic and aspirational goal-setting. For Workplace networks, the global average for Interactive Users is 27% and our recommended target is over 38% across a 6 month period.
