This 2 minute video will show you how you can benchmark and compare communities, topics, and segments. The basic steps are:

1. Click on the dashboard for which you want to perform a comparison (e.g. Community, Segment, or Topic)
2. Click on the Settings wheel
3. Under 'Comparisons' create a list
4. Add the entities that you want to compare
5. Click 'OK', and 'OK'. Then you will be taken back to the dashboard
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the Benchmarking report

Note: If you are a SWOOP Admin, or a SWOOP Lite Admin, then you'll find a predefined comparison list called 'Individual Benchmarking'. If you choose this list, then SWOOP will show a summary table of activities made by all people that a members of the selected Community (or Segment, or have contributed to a Topic). "We all love comparing ourselves to others. Wouldn’t you like to compare and benchmark one community to another, or one topic to another?

You can easily do that in SWOOP, and you can do it on each of the dashboards for Segments, Topics, and Communities. Let’s try and compare a couple of communities.

We start by going to the relevant dashboard – in this case the Communities dashboard – and then click on the righthand side fly-out menu here.

Down here you’ll see an area called ‘Comparisons’. Start by giving your comparison list a name. Let’s call this one “Business Development vs Marketing”

Once you have created the list you can now start to add communities. Just search for a community name, and then put a tick against it. Keep doing this until you have all the communities you want to compare.

We’d suggest that you include one community you know works really well, and then use this community as your benchmark for high performance.

When your list is complete, click ‘OK', ensure your list is selected, and click ‘OK’ again to see how your communities compare.

Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and here you’ll see a table of the communities you selected. You can see how many people are in the communities and some high level activity numbers that allows you to compare and benchmark.
